One Chamber

One Chamber. One Continuous Flow.
 
AFC uses a single open thermal chamber where heat, combustible gases, flame, and injected air interact within one continuous vertical space.
 
Instead of transferring gases to a separate secondary chamber, staged air injection supports oxidation as the gases rise

Central Rod

Air Delivered to the Heart of the Flow.

The Central Rod delivers pressurized air directly into the interior of the chamber at multiple vertical levels.

Its purpose is not simply to supply air, but to organize where air meets rising gases, heat, and flame.

Three-Stage Air Injection

Air Where the Flow Needs It.

Air is introduced at three vertical stages, allowing oxidation to develop progressively as combustible gases rise through the chamber.

Under suitable conditions, the stages become connected by flame, forming a continuous gas-phase oxidation flow.

AFC is designed to be built locally using refractory materials, ordinary steel components, piping, and straightforward fabrication methods.

Its dimensions and materials may adapt to local conditions while preserving the functional relationship between chamber, air, heat, and flow.

Ignition & Operation

Establish the Heat. Let the Flow Take Over.

Auxiliary fuel may be used during ignition and preheating. As heat builds and staged air injection develops the oxidation flow, continuous auxiliary fuel can be removed.

The process then continues through the thermal energy of the combustible feed, retained chamber heat, and controlled air injection.

Heat established. Fuel removed. Flow sustains.

FLOW

Where Air Becomes Flow.

AFC began with a simple idea: use staged air to let combustible waste provide the energy needed to continue treating waste.

Its multi-stage air injection brings oxygen directly into the rising combustible gases, shaping successive oxidation zones within a single chamber. Once sufficient heat and flow are established, high-calorific SPCW can sustain the process without continuous auxiliary fuel.

The objective is equally simple: create the conditions for complete combustion structurally, rather than adding complexity afterward. As oxidation becomes more complete, visible smoke and odor can be greatly reduced at the point where they would otherwise originate.

This simplicity also extends to construction. Instead of depending on complex equipment or a cast refractory lining requiring specialized installation and repair, AFC can be built from high-duty refractory bricks and ordinary fabricated components. Individual bricks can be replaced when necessary, making the chamber durable, maintainable, and comparatively inexpensive to reproduce in the field.

That combination—simple construction, staged air, self-sustained thermal energy, and field-level maintainability—is what gives AFC its potential for decentralized treatment of plastic-rich SPCW, particularly where conventional waste infrastructure is difficult or too costly to deploy.

AFC does not make combustion more complicated. It makes the pathway to complete combustion simpler.
